Oh. As usual, I probably haven't understood the problem. What was the "unwelcome message"?

What I mean is when you get the list of all the rooms we've got, it shows the most recent post in each, who posted, and the title of the thread on which they've posted. So in about 5 of the rooms, the last thread title posted shows as the one created by the sick person who paid us a visit this morning. So, I've now posted in three of them to get them off the "front page" of our boards. Two to go!
Am I the only one who comes onto the board directly into the screen where you see all the rooms? Maybe I'm missing a trick, so if so, please let me in on the secret!

Oh I see.

I go in on "New Posts". And yes, there is a temptation to click on them all to make them go off the front page. Luckily loads of people have posted since 7pm - so there are lots of threads to look at.

Yes, it's annoying, and I can't imagine how they got past the controls on the site - it just backs up the arguments for having our own moderators (Nic & Sam)!

I agree Hashy. I don't see why we can't have Nicx and Sam back to keep everything decent round here.
I have now finished cleaning up the home page, having posted in each room where the yukky stuff was still showing as the most recent post!

Well done with that Blue - at least they're not the first thing that greets us now.

I just clicked on Quick Links and then clicked on 'mark all forums read', so when I used New Posts I didn't see any messages I don't want to. I don't go into the individual rooms unless there's a particular thread I'm looking for.

By the way Blue, you're not the only one who enters the forum using the front page. I much prefer to do that than use the new posts facility. I like to go into the individual rooms.

I do the same and go into individual rooms.

Thanks for clearing the unwelcome posts off the home page Blue. I wish I'd thought of doing that this morning.

That's a good idea Blue.

I go to the home page first and look to see what threads have new posts, when I logged on yesterday (at around 3.00) those "interesting" posts leapt out at me; whoever posted them wasn't exactly very subtle were they!
