Oh yes, I forgot Lorelei's Secret. I did cry at that one too.

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about TBITSP, definitely a tearjerker. I had to blink a few times today to clear my eyes as I skimmed through Once by Morris Gleitzman too. It's the subject matter obviously, but also the fact that it's narrated by a young boy, as with TBITSP, and he speaks so matter-of-factly. I only read a few pages, but it had me on the verge of blubbing. I was told by someone that his Two Weeks With the Queen is a real tearjerker too, although he always has plenty of laughs as well.

Striped Pyjamas and Guantanamo Boy along with that type of book give me lump in my throat, as did Things my Daughters should know.
The one that finished me off proper crying, snot, sobs was Before I Die by Jenny Downham I was in pieces!

I'm with Nicx and Hashy on this - no book has ever made me cry. Films made from books have though!!

Just talked to my sister and she reminded me about P.S. I Love You. She read it on a plane and was desperately embarrassed. And years ago there was Love Story
