If you have proof of posting they will refund you the value of the book - make sure you claim its full replacement value of course . But they will insist on waiting 3 weeks or so to see if it turns up.

Still no sign of it this end. I will post on here immediately if it does turn up.

Ok Amber, that's fine. It can't be helped anyway, and if it doesn't turn up then it sounds like Shona has a proof of posting (which is more than I would have got if I had posted it).

I always get a proof of posting. It's one of the reasons I don't use on-line postage - because you still have to go to the Post Office if you want proof of posting, so what's the point!

Snap, Hashy. Although, touch wood, I've never had to chase up any missing parcels. It'll be a learning curve to find out how the system actually works.

I never get proof of posting for books - in all the time I've been using online postage I've only had one book go astray that I sold on Green Metropolis, and I just stood the cost of it. I just like the convenience of putting the parcel straight in the box.

So do I, Nicx. If it was a valuable item, I'd send it recorded delivery. But, other than that, it's not worth me driving to a post office.

Shona, it's three weeks on Thursday since you posted this book - I think that means you can start a claim with Royal Mail if you have proof of posting.

I have the form to set the ball rolling and will order a copy from Amazon to go straight to Amber.

That's great, thanks I wonder where on earth it's got to - perhaps somebody else ended up with the pleasure of reading it.
